How to Keep Your Shampoo Chairs Looking Like New

Here are some ways to extend the life of your salon or barber shop’s shampoo chairs.

Minimize overspray

Minimizing the amount of water you’re getting on the tops and backs of your shampoo chair vinyl will help maintain the quality of the upholstery.

Avoid letting water sit on the vinyl for an extended period. If water does get on your chair, dry it off with a salon towel to minimize hard water stains.

Use the right cleaners

Wiping down shampoo chairs with harsh chemicals can damage the vinyl and stitching over time. Be sure to use cleaners that are safe for this kind of material.

Tighten the bolts

Many Minerva Beauty shampoo systems have minimal bolts, but some of our auto-recline standalone shampoo chairs do have some assembly for the arms and reclining components. Be sure to check that the bolts remain tight as they can gradually loosen with daily use.

Pro Tip: You can also use lock tight (threadlocker adhesive), to secure the bolts. Just note, once you’ve used lock tight, it will be very difficult to unscrew the bolts moving forward.
